Jobs On The Outside (JOTO) program is a new initiative designed to lend specialized assistance to ex-offenders/job seekers with criminal histories in obtaining job training and job search assistance. To access the services provided by JOTO, please contact your local probation/parole office or visit one of the Community Resource Centers for additional information.

Goodwill Industries Randolph County Community Resource Center, 1064 E. Dixie Drive, Asheboro, offers the following classes: GED/ABE; English as a Second Language; Money Smart; Basic Computer; Software for Career Development; Internet and E-Mail for the World of Work; Interviewing, Resume Writing and How to Properly Complete a Job Application; Unemployment: Understanding the Grieving Process; and Balancing Work and Parenting. Goodwill Industries Greensboro Community Resource Center July-September 2011 Course Schedule

At the Greensboro Community Resource Center, job seekers can meet individually with career counselors, take advantage of the computer lab for self-guided tutorials on the latest computer programs, and brush up on interview techniques offered through Employability Skills class. Also take a Money Smart class to learn the basic principles of money management in today’s economy, or a one-day workshop designed to target a particular issue or area of interest for job seekers.

Goodwill Industries North Elm Career Center August-December 2011 Course Schedule

Register now for workshops available at the North Elm Career Center. Workshops are available several times a month to assist people in their job searches. Enjoy a small, intimate group setting to learn techniques to land that perfect position. Goodwill Industries' North Elm Career Center is located inside the North Elm Goodwill Retail Store. Pre-employment program for displaced homemakers: Women’s Resource Center will hold the next installment of its pre-employment program designed for displaced homemakers, “New Choices: Strategies for Success,” starting May 3. Workshops will cover topics such as networking, interviewing, budgeting, identifying career goals, resume building, self esteem and researching companies. Career interest inventories aregiven and reviewed and then explored on the Internet. his training is valuable to job seekers who are looking for ways to enhance their job search skills and/or to retool their careers.
